The Enjoyment of Christ, Judy Gonzalez |
|
I became a Christian in Long Island, New York in 1964 when I was 11 years old. Two years later, I went back to Colombia, South America, where I met in a denomination. Later on, I felt so unsatisfied so I visited other groups. However, none of my questions were answered by meeting with those groups. At that time I met some Christians visiting from the local church in Santa Ana, California. To my surprise, after talking with them I saw that believers could meet in oneness as the church in their city. In 1984, my husband, our three children and I moved to Santa Ana, California to continue enjoying the Lord with the believers in the church in Santa Ana. During that time, I learned that the secret of an overcoming life is to enjoy Christ to the uttermost. I enjoy Him by confessing my sins (1 John 1:9), by eating Him in the Word (John 6:35, 57, 63), and by drinking Him through singing (Ephesians 5:18-19). These practices give me life. In my personal experience, my enjoyment with the Lord has been enriched through reading the writings of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. These writings have stirred up my love for the Lord, as I never felt before. I have seen that the riches of the Lord are unsearchable (Ephesians 3:8) yet so available for my enjoyment. Specifically when I read the book The Tree of Life my vision was much clearer. I saw that this Tree is Christ (John 15:1), and from the beginning in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2:9) until eternity, in the New Jerusalem (Revelation 22:2) this Tree is available to be enjoyed and eaten by me. Eating the Tree of Life satisfies all my need. Amen! Now, I have fellowship with the precious believers in Moreno Valley, California. My experience and enjoyment of Christ never ends. It becomes greater and greater. It is inexhaustible! It goes from glory to glory! The unique reason is that Christ is our hope of glory (Colossians 1:27)! |
